Jharkhand govt sheltering Bangladeshi infiltrators: BJP chief

BJP President Jagat Prakash Nadda today accused the JMM-led coalition government in Jharkhand of providing shelter to Bangladeshi infiltrators in madrasas and facilitating documents like Aadhaar and voter IDs for them.
“An intelligence report reveals that Bangladeshi infiltrators are being given shelter in madrasas. The state government is helping them obtain Aadhaar, voter ID, gas connections, ration cards, and even land,” Nadda said while addressing a rally in Gomia, Bokaro district, ahead of the second and final phase of assembly elections on November 20.
Nadda also alleged that infiltration is a significant issue in the state and accused infiltrators of marrying tribal women to acquire their land.
“The Hemant Soren government has looted the ‘Jal, Jungle, Jameen’ (water, forest, and land) of Jharkhand. We will introduce legislation to ensure that the offspring of such infiltrators are barred from owning land,” he said.
Only a BJP-led government under Prime Minister Narendra Modi can tackle infiltration effectively, he added.
The BJP has made alleged infiltration from Bangladesh a key issue in its campaign to reclaim power in the tribal-dominated state.
Jharkhand has been governed by a coalition of the Jharkhand Mukti Morcha, Congress, and Rashtriya Janata Dal since 2019.
